Gloves

  • Karting gloves are racing gloves with reinforced, grippy palms and a close fit. They give you a secure hold on the wheel, better feel and control, and protect your hands on track far better than bare hands or regular gloves.

  • For most events you need gloves that fully cover the hands and wrists. Since 1 January 2025, competitions on the FIA International Sporting Calendar require gloves and boots that meet FIA Standard 8877-2022. Always check your series' regulations.

  • Only if you compete in events that require the FIA International Sporting Calendar standard. For club and national racing, full-coverage karting gloves are usually accepted — check your event's technical regulations to be sure.

  • Karting gloves should fit snugly with no spare material at the fingertips. Sizing differs per brand and may be shown as a number or as S/M/L, so check the size chart on the product page. If you're unsure or between sizes, contact us and we'll help you choose.

Body protector

  • A rib protector is strongly recommended for every karter because bruised or cracked ribs are the most common karting injury. Many championships and national series also require a homologated rib protector, so check your event's regulations.

  • A rib protector is a focused rigid or semi-rigid vest that protects the ribcage and is the standard competition item. A body protector offers broader torso coverage and is popular with younger or beginner drivers who want extra reassurance.

  • A rib protector should fit firmly around the ribs without limiting your breathing, and it's worn under the race suit. Sizing varies per brand and is often shown as XXS–XL or by height/age for juniors, so check the size chart on the product page. If you're between sizes, contact us and we'll help.

  • Yes. Junior drivers benefit from a properly fitted rib or body protector and often a neck support, such as the Sparco K-ring Junior. We stock junior sizes from the smallest fit upward.

FAQ - Rain Tyres

  • They're wet-weather kart tyres with a treaded pattern and soft rubber that clears water and grips a wet track. Slicks are the opposite, made smooth for dry conditions.

  • You shouldn't. They wear out fast and overheat on dry tarmac, and once the track dries they're much slower than slicks. Swap back to slicks as soon as a dry line shows up.

  • Once water starts sitting on the track and your slicks begin to slide or aquaplane. If the track is properly wet rather than just damp, you'll usually be quicker on rains straight away.

  • Less than slicks, because the rubber is softer. How long exactly depends on the track surface, your class and how hard you drive. Used only in the wet and looked after, a good set will see you through several race weekends.

  • Mostly it's decided for you by your championship's homologation rules. Vega, Komet, Maxxis and LECONT all turn up in regulated racing, and Apex is the budget pick for training. Check your technical regulations, or ask us and we'll confirm it.

  • Yes. We deliver worldwide, so you can order from outside the Netherlands for both racing and training.

  • Yes. Every rain tyre on this page is sold as a full set, front and rear, so you've got everything to fit your kart for the wet.
