Single-layer vs multi-layer suits
Entry-level and club karting suits are typically single-layer constructions: lightweight, breathable, and ideal for everyday competition in non-fire categories such as Mini, Junior, and OK. Multi-layer suits offer additional fire protection and are required in gearbox kart classes (KZ) and any category where a fuel system is present at higher risk. If you race in multiple categories, check the most demanding standard that applies to you.
