Soft compound tyres (such as the Apex Soft purple and the Vega XM4 CIK Prime) heat up quickly and generate maximum grip in the early laps, making them the preferred choice in qualifying and in shorter sprint races. The trade-off is faster wear and a narrower operating temperature window .


Medium compound tyres (such as the Apex Medium blue, Komet K3M, and Vega XH4 CIK Option) offer a broader working range across varying track temperatures and surface conditions. They are the most versatile option for race day and are often the safest choice when conditions are uncertain or when the track is still green at the start of a race weekend.


Hard compound tyres (such as the Apex Hard yellow and Komet K3H) are built for durability and consistency over longer runs or on high-grip circuits where softer compounds would overheat and blister. They are also commonly used in training to reduce tyre costs while still providing representative handling feedback.


Mini karting uses smaller tyre dimensions than senior classes. The Vega M1 CIK Mini is the correct fitment for most Mini kart classes and is approved under CIK-FIA regulations. Always confirm the correct size and homologation for your specific Mini series before ordering.


OK, Junior, and Senior classes typically run the standard CIK-FIA homologated front and rear tyre dimensions. The Maxxis Prime CIK/FIA (Prime compound) and Maxxis Option CIK/FIA are the control tyres for the FIA Karting World and European Championships, making them the natural choice for drivers competing at national-to-international level. The Maxxis Super Sport is a durable training tyre well suited to practice days and arrive-and-drive events.


Our Slick Tyre Brands

Komet specialises exclusively in karting tyres and is the official control tyre supplier for several national and club karting series across Europe. The K3H and K3M are their flagship compounds for senior categories, while the K1D-M is designed for junior classes.


Vega is the CIK-FIA control tyre for many of the most prestigious international karting events. The XM4 (Prime) and XH4 (Option) compounds are used at the FIA Karting European Championship and are among the most race-proven tyres in the sport. The Vega M1 CIK Mini serves the youngest category.


Maxxis is the official tyre supplier of the FIA Karting World Championship. The Maxxis Prime and Option sets are mandatory in a number of national and international series and are widely regarded as highly consistent, predictable performers across a broad range of track conditions.
