Karting suits
Sparco's suit line covers every level. The Rookie is designed for indoor karting, where homologation isn't required. Move up to the outdoor and competition suits, such as the Thunder Advanced or the Kerb Advanced, and you're into abrasion-resistant, homologated territory with soft inner linings for all-day comfort. At the top sits the Prime-K, developed with professional kart racers and packed with cooling intakes, reinforced panels and semi-floating arms. There's also a waterproof over-suit for wet weekends, which is a lot more pleasant than racing in a soaked suit.

Karting gloves

Sparco's karting gloves combine reinforced palms with pre-curved fits so you're not fighting the material through a stint. Homologation: the part most people get wrong
This is where a good conversation genuinely saves you money. The FIA 8877-2022 standard has replaced the previous CIK-FIA Level 1 and Level 2 homologations for suits, gloves and shoes, and gloves and boots to the new standard have become mandatory across FIA-calendar karting competitions. Rib protectors follow the separate FIA 8870-2018 standard.
In practice, that means a suit that was perfectly legal a few seasons ago may no longer be accepted where you want to race, and requirements can still differ per federation and per event. Before you order, tell us which series and circuits you're targeting. We check the homologation requirements for you, so you buy once instead of twice.

Getting the fit right
Racewear only protects you properly when it fits properly. A suit that's too tight restricts your shoulders, a rib protector that's too loose moves under load, and shoes that are half a size out will ruin your pedal feel.

Which Sparco suit do I need for my level?
If you only drive indoor karting, a non-homologated suit like the Rookie is usually enough. As soon as you race outdoors or in official competition, you need a homologated suit, with the higher-end models offering better ventilation, lighter materials and more comfort over long stints. Tell us where and how often you drive, and we'll recommend the level that matches your ambitions instead of overselling you.

Is my current karting suit still legal?
That depends on its homologation label and on the rules of the federation and series you're entering, since the FIA 8877-2022 standard has replaced the older CIK-FIA Level 1 and 2 approvals.
